The Boca Secondary Young Leaders hosted a Maroon Festival on Friday 4th April to embrace our diverse culture of Grenada. The aim of the Maroon Festival was to bring the community closer together, to encourage students, teachers and members of the Boca community to embrace their heritage thus engaging in cultural and social activities.

With the help of parents, teachers and various clubs different foods who cooked and displayed and cultural activities such as Ring games, story telling, maypole, cricket and kite felting were done on the school compound. This maroon festival was in keeping with the 2014 young leaders theme, Diversity, the 21st century Imperative! The young leaders hopes that students will gain a better appreciation for their heritage and culture and will embrace our Diverse nation.

it is said that the school of Choice is Boca Secondary, We boast of the widest curriculum in the Tri -island state. The Primary school students got a first hand opportunity to view what BSS has to offer. The students also got an opportunity to embrace the BSS culture.

Diversity Awards

The Boca Secondary is one of the most comprehensive and diverse secondary schools in Grenada and by extension in the O.E.C.S. It provides avenues for your children to recognize, access and pursue their career path from a very early stage in their secondary school life.

The Young Leaders Highlighted the Strength of Boca and awarded all academic and technical departments. They also recognised three teachers who continue to be diverse in their classroom. The young leaders will continue to embrace the diverse culture at the BSS.
The Young Leaders recognized three teachers who have shown their appreciation for different cultures an individuals in the school and community.


Mrs. Gittens, the first awardee is a language and Religious education teacher who is never busy to lend a helping hand. She always takes the time to help the weak and slower students during and after schools. 





the second Awardee was chosen by the young leaders as one of the Most Diverse teachers on staff. she teaches french, and has taught Spanish, clothing and Textiles, Integrated Science and Computer Science. She recently held a French Breakfast for her form 4 and form 5 students where she highlighted the French Culture in her classroom teaching.



The final Diversity Award was given to Mr. Godson Browne, who teaches music at the school. He is Multi- Talented and is very excited about Music Education in school. His involvement has helped many students and even teachers who are striving to become more rounded in education. he embraces all aspects of Diversity.









All the departments of the school was awarded for their outstanding work, including, Maths and Sciences, General Studies, Technical, English and Foreign Langues.


Heritage Day & Fashion Show

The young Leaders of Boca secondary held a Heritage day and Fashion show on Friday 28th February, 2014. The young leaders highlighted cultures of the world thus educating the school's population about the different modes of dress in different cultures. The models were students of the school themselves and teachers alike. This year the young leaders of Boca aim to highlight our unique heritage, while accepting and embracing one another for our diverse cultures!
